Moosonee Memorial for Ornge Crewmembers
Candle lit walk held June 1, 2013 in Moosonee, Ontario in honour of the four crew members of an ORNGE helicopter that crashed just after take off from Moosonee on its way to Attawapiskat: Captain Don Filliter of Skead, Ontario, First Officer Jacques Dupuy, of Otterburn-Park Quebec, Flight Paramedic Dustin Dagenais, of Moose Factory Ontario and Flight Paramedic Chris Snowball, of Burlington Ontario.
The memorial attracted a large group of people in a small northern town on a rainy Saturday night. Many people in Moosonee have flown on an air ambulance; at some times of the year it is the only way for a patient to get to the hospital in Moose Factory. The air ambulance also brings patients from Northern communities.
